About Scotty

Scotty McCreery is a small town boy from Garner, North Carolina with big dreams and big ambitions for in life.

Family

Judy McCreery (Mother), Michael McCreery (Father), Ashley McCreery (Sister), Tina McCreery Creech (Aunt)

Scotty's journey

Scotty's journey started with a trip to the American Idol in Milwaukee. With his deep county voice, and pure sound, Scotty blew the judges away, making Jennifer Lopez smile with a twinkle in her eye, and Steven Tyler to phrase words together to say that Scotty was in.
When Scotty first went in front of the American Idol judges, he sang "Your Man" by Josh Turner, simply blowing away the judges. Steven Tyler asked Scotty if he could sing something that raises his voice higher, and Scotty sings, "Put some drive into Country" by Travis Tritt. This seals the deal and Scotty is given the Golden Ticket to Hollywood to perform on The American Idol.

Hollywood Week

Scotty rehearses the song "I hope you Dance" by Lee Ann Womack of which, he did not know the lyrics too. Scotty pulled it out and the judges moved him to the next step.
